It looks like the ego knows something is missing but it always looks in the wrong place, it looks there, but never here. It never goes deep into life, into what IS, it ignores the simple reality of the present moment, and looks towards the next moment for satisfaction: that which i can add to make me complete.
When the future comes, it is a now already.
The ego always wants to use this present moment to get there, to that future moment. Everything and everybody can be an obstacle for the ego.
That is the disfunctionnal state of counsciousness, that is condemn to perpetual discontent. "
